Moodbidri, Aug 3: The Block Congress Committee (BCC) activists staged a massive protest in front of the taluk office here on Tuesday August 2 against the BJP-led corrupt state administration and the delay in granting state funds for Ashraya housing for poor families.

Addressing the protesters, Mulky – Moodbidri MLA Abayachandra Jain said that there has been a delay by the BJP-led state administration in granting funds for Ashraya housing, irregularities in issuing ration cards, and the common man is inconvenienced as since the department of food and civil supplies sought to verify ration cards, electricity bills, and LPG gas cards, related to every connection.

Hundreds of Congress activists hurled slogans against the corrupt BJP-led state administration, alleging that CM Yeddyurappa’s family had amassed wealth from the exchequer, was involved in land scams, corruption in appointment of teachers, police and government officers, and police atrocities on farmers in their peaceful protest.

Local Congressmen including town councillor Ratnakar Devadiga, Koragappa, P K Thomas, and former town councillor Bhoja Kotian participated in the protest.
