Mangaluru: Accused absconding, evading court hearings for over a year arrested

Mangaluru, Aug 9: An accused out on bail, who was absconding for over a year-and-a-half without attending court hearings was arrested by the city crime branch police from Miyapadav in Kasargod and handed over to Surathkal police for further action.

The accused is identified as Mohammad Naushad alias Ullanje Noushad, a resident of Ullanje, Mannabettu village here.

He is an accused in the 2018 Deepak Rao murder case under Surathkal police station limits, assault and murder threat case under Mulki police station limits, assault on police personnel on-duty, and a POCSO case in women’s police station.

CCB ACP P A Hegde, police inspector Shyam Sunder H M, PSI Sharanappa Bhandary and other CCB personnel took part in the operation to arrest the accused.
