Maoist posters found in Kolkata

Kolkata, Aug 4 (IANS) Posters of outlawed Maoists organisations demanding release of jailed rebel leaders were found in different parts of Kolkata Thursday, police said.

The posters, found near Barisha area, Presidency College and Indian Coffee House in College Street, also demanded strict punishment for police officers allegedly involved in atrocities on tribals of the Maoist-affected areas of the state, said a police official manning the police control room here.

"The posters were found in the morning. We have removed them," the official added.
