Mangaluru: Moral policing case – Gang assaults shop owner in city, 2 held

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Aug 10: In a case of moral policing that occurred on Tuesday, August 9 in the night in the heart of the city at Dubai Market, a gang of youths assaulted the owner of a shop and escaped from the spot.

The Dubai Market shop is situated near Central Market in the city. On Tuesday night, a customer came inside the shop and asked its owner to repair a powerbank. When the owner of the shop said that they do not repair a powerbank, the customer asked for a screwdriver and said that he will repair it himself.

The owner then said that the staff members were busy and it was not possible for them to give a screwdriver. The conversation then turned into an argument and the customer assaulted the owner of the shop. When the shop owner objected to this assault, he called his gang of friends and beat the owner of the shop black and blue.

The act of assault has been caught on the CCTV of the shop. A case has been filed with Bunder police station and two have been arrested. Police are on the look out for others.

Finish this moral police permanently with encounter or harsh punishment on them so that no one dares to do any moral policing without the permission of real civil police. It’s a shame on law and order who can’t even take care of these filthy criminals . Mangalore was a peaceful society and city when we were growing. Everyone was kind without religious biases.

In Mumbai all such trouble makers are dealt sternly by the public themselves; if such things happen in public transport buses or local trains, then the pasting that they get is merciless!!

our Indian public is good only to show aggression in comments section only... if 5-6 people in that shop would have caught hold of them then it was easy for police to put them behind bars... instead they chose to remain silent...

If the onlooking public gathers in a group, instead of video shooting, confronts these jobless jacks aggressively perhaps it will act as a strong deterrent!

For moral policing more stringent laws should be enacted to deter future policing; untill then, this menace will persist!!
