Six arrested in separate incidents of ganja consumption in Mangaluru, Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi, Aug 11: Two people each were arrested by Mangaluru, Karkala and Manipal police in separate incidents of ganja consumption.

Mangaluru rural police arrested Mohammed Tamim (35), a resident of Mallur Badriya Nagara and Mohammed Shafi (25), a resident of Kasaba Bengre on the accusation of consuming ganja near Mallur Badriya Nagara. Station inspector Johnson D’Souza and personnel apprehended the duo when they were on night patrolling rounds. A case under NDPS is filed against the accused.

Karkala city police arrested Velumurugan and Girish, resident of Nelligudde Crossroad on the accusation of trying to sell ganja as well as consuming the same. The raid was carried out by the team led by PSI Sandeep Kumar. A case is filed in this connection.

Manipal police arrested Yathish Kumar Pai (24) and Sharan (26) who were smoking ganja at a public place in Manipal. Forensic examination confirmed ganja consumption.
