'Why didn't BJP clear contractors bills,' asks deputy CM D K Shivakumar

Bengaluru, Aug 11 (IANS): Following the controversy regarding the release of contractors bills, the Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K Shivakumar on Friday asked the BJP leaders why they had not cleared their bills when they were in power in the state.

The BJP is supporting the contractors against the government for the release of their payments.

“Why former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and former minister R. Ashoka not clear the bill when they were in power in the state? Who prevented them from giving payments? Didn’t they have funds? Or was the work substandard? Let them answer these questions and we will answer contractors,” the Deputy Chief Minister D.K Shivakumar said.

He said that after the Congress government came to power, CM had asked to ascertain the work done following the allegations by State Contractors’ Association President D. Kempanna’s allegations.

The BJP leaders too had requested for investigation. “Following this, we formed an investigation committee. They have been asked to look into whether the work is done or not,” he said.

He said that those who could wait for three to four years, why they cannot wait until the investigation is over. “Why is there so much urgency? What is going on?” the Deputy Chief Minister asked.

Talking about 15 per cent commission allegations, he said that he would retire if the commission charges are proved against him.

“If I am found not guilty of charges will BJP leaders Bommai and Ashoka take political retirement?” Shivakumar stated.

He further reiterated that can’t they (contractors) wait for two months? The contractors should not talk about ending lives or seek mercy killing.

“I know who is behind them. The allegations and counter allegations are natural in democracy,” he said.

Since BJP was aware they are going to loose the election they must have asked the contractors to pay them 80% to 90% commission. which was immposible for the contractors. May be because of that for sure.

If previous BJP govt had issued work order for the work to be done then there should be funds allotted for the same in the account. Where is the money gone as per the work order issued by BJP????….If later any work order issued by congress govt will be entertained and payment will be done after verification of the work done. Unfortunately congress govt hasn’t gone that far so soon after assuming power to initiate any contract work. So, a thorough investigation will expose BJP for disappearance of sanctioned contractors money and send them to prison from top to bottom and justice will be served to contractors.

I think there is some conspiracy going on between opposition parties and contractors. Why Keppanna is not asking with Boma????. If there is any doubt with BJP Government, Siddaramayya must take action against those who have are responsible for not making payments. Why they draggin the matter ??? Punish them , everyone will come in order. If there's " golmal" in Covid19 kit? Why action not taken against Dr Sudhaker??,,

Many are fake bills -- That is how they are able to pay 40 % -- Fake bill of say Rs 100=00 --- Commissions 40 % + -- 60 % to contractor -- -- Otherwise which business has such profits over and above 40 % -- -- (now contractors must have given upfront 40 % to some beneficiaries -- based on fake bills -- now they are trapped for amounts - ---As - work is getting verified -- and no work has happened -- so nothing due from govt ----)------ - BJP who were expected to win also lost --
