Mangaluru: Scooter, car collision – Father killed, son seriously injured

Mangaluru, Aug 13: A tragic accident unfolded in Mangaluru as a collision between a scooter and a car claimed the life of a father and left his son in a serious condition. The incident occurred in Chombugudde near Thokkottu.

The deceased has been identified as Abbas (58), a resident of Alekala.

The unfortunate event transpired on a Saturday morning when Abbas and his son Naushad were riding on a scooter towards Deralakatte. As they were navigating their way, a car collided with their scooter at the Chombugudde location. The impact of the collision resulted in both the rider and the pillion being ejected onto the road.

Tragically, Abbas succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital. His son, Naushad, sustained severe injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at a private hospital in Deralakatte.

The Mangaluru South Traffic Police have taken cognizance of the incident and have registered a case in connection with the collision.
