Mangaluru, Aug 13: The lifeless body of a young man, hailing from Neralapalke in the Macchina village of Beltangady taluk, was discovered along the shores of the Netravati river at Uliya. The grim discovery comes two days after the youth went missing.

The deceased has been identified as Rajesh (38).

The body surfaced on the riverbank early on Sunday morning.

A group of Uliya residents, led by Prem Prakash D’Souza, undertook the task of retrieving the mortal remains from the river.

Initial assessments suggest that Rajesh may have taken his own life by leaping into the Netravati river near Ullal. Notably, a missing person's case had been lodged for Rajesh at the Beltangady police station two days prior to the discovery of his body.
