Bantwal: Auto overturns trying to avoid mongoose; driver injured

Bantwal, Aug 13: A peculiar incident occurred at Kodangai in the Vitla Padnur village, resulting in an auto overturning as the driver attempted to rescue a mongoose that had ventured onto the road.
 
The auto driver sustained serious injuries and has been hospitalised. The injured auto driver, Ismail (53), hails from Mangalapadavu.

The incident unfolded as the auto was returning towards Salethur after dropping off some passengers when he encountered a mongoose crossing the road near the Kodangai bridge.
 




 
He swiftly reacted and in an effort to prevent any harm to the mongoose, the driver jammed the brakes abruptly. Unfortunately, this manoeuvering caused the auto to lose control and collide with an iron barrier at the roadside.

The driver Ismail was injured due to the impact of the collision.

Onlookers rushed to his rescue and to provide assistance. They promptly transported the injured driver to Vitla Hospital for medical attention.
