Mangaluru: Threat to police over phone – Rowdy sheeter arrested

Mangaluru, Aug 15: Urwa police arrested Punit Shetty (35), a known rowdy sheeter, on the accusation of threatening police personnel.

Punit, called Urwa police station with regards to an accident.

While speaking over the phone, he got enraged and threatened the police. A case was registered in this connection.

Police recovered pistol and live bullets from the accused. Punit is a known rowdysheeter who has cases filed against him in Barke, Pandeshwar, Bunder, Urwa and Kankanady police stations.

    Fernandes Mangalore,one doesnt get everything with stick.Proper medicine for Proper medicine for proper disease.Such people who threaten Police are to be treated with arrest and good fine.No weapons to them.Have to be observed closely.

    Chandranna, What i have said is that there are a few here and there (Kori is generally used for shettys) by and large they are not in the scene since two decades. Muthappa Rai, Sharad Shetty, Sadhu Shetty, Amar Alva, jayanth Rai etc were active in the 90s and since then not much is heard of them.
