Bengaluru, Aug 16: In a bid to strengthen the Congress party and take all the district party legislators into confidence and prepare for the next year’s Lok Sabha polls, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who is also the KPCC chief, held district-wise meetings with party legislators at the Chief Minister’s Home Office of 'Krishna' on Wednesday afternoon.
Among the districts for which meetings of Congress legislators including MLAs, MLCs and MPs along with the district in-charge ministers are: Dakshina Kannada, Bengaluru Urban and Kolar.
The chief minister and deputy chief minister urged the party legislators to work unitedly for the success of the Congress in order to win the maximum number of Lok Sabha seats.
The legislators were assured that the state government would release funds for the developmental works in their respective constituencies and asked them to work unitedly for the success of the party candidates.
All the legislators are understood to have assured the chief minister and deputy chief minister that they will work for the candidates chosen. However, the other details were not immediately available.
