Mangaluru, Aug 16: The 77th Independence Day was celebrated at St Aloysius College Higher Primary School on August 15 with a great spirit of patriotism and unity. The event commenced with a dignified guard of honour presentation, showcasing the commitment and discipline of the school band and scouts. A soul stirring prayer followed where attendees come together to seek blessings for the nations progress.
The chief guest of the programme advocate Ajay M Noronha, an alumnus of the school hoisted the national flag. It was a moment that filled the atmosphere with reverence and nationalistic fervor. A warm welcome speech by the students of std 6 emphasized the importance of the day and set the tone for the upcoming events.
A melodious rendition of a patriotic song resonated through the venue, igniting a shared love for the country. A thought provoking presentation highlighted the historical significance of Independence Day, reminding everyone present, the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.
The chief guest of the programme was introduced to the gathering. This was followed by prize distribution to the students who excelled in various competitions, themed around patriotism and nation building.
The highlight of the event was the thought provoking address by the chief guest Ajay M Noronha, a renowned advocate of Mangaluru . He spoke on the importance of the day and also shared the memories of the school , that he treasured .
The event culminated with an enthralling patriotic dance programme. Students of std 6th conducted the programme. The correspondent Fr John D'Souza S J, headmistress Jositta Noronha, assistant headmaster Liya D'Souza , PTA vice president Victor Serrao, assistant school pupil leader Joylan Pinto, secretary Sanvi Lobo were present on the dias.
