Heavy rain in Delhi, Noida & Gurugram; weathermen predicts more showers


New Delhi, Aug 19 (IANS): Residents of Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram witnessed a fresh spell of rain on Saturday, providing some relief from the hot and humid weather, most of the down-lying area witnessed waterlogging and traffic issues.

The heavy rain triggered waterlogging in several areas of the national capital and traffic police of Delhi on their X handle advised to avoid different stretches.

Visuals of Dwarka showed vehicles passing through heavily waterlogged streets.

The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) has predicted more rain on Saturday.

The Delhi traffic police advised the commuters to avoid the outer Ring road due to waterlogging in both the carriageways of Bhera Enclave underpass.

Traffic was also affected on Bahadurgarh road in the carriageway from Bahadurgarh stand, firni road, Najafgarh towards PTC Jharoda Kalan due to waterlogging. And asked to avoid a carriageway due to DJB work.

Traffic police were also alerted to avoid taking a stretch on Ring road in the carriageway from Bharat Darshan Park towards roundabout Punjabi Bagh due to breakdown of a vehicle.

The weathermen in a statement said, "Generally cloudy sky. Light rain or thunderstorms. The maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 35 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively."
