Kundapur, Aug 20: A young man from the taluk met a tragic end on Friday in K P Agrahara, Bengaluru, due to an adverse reaction to an injection administered by a doctor to alleviate his fever.

The victim of this unfortunate incident is Amar Shetty (31), the son of the late Chandra Shetty. Amar hailed from Bedralli, Hosangadi village in the taluk, and his demise has been attributed to alleged negligence on the part of a doctor.

Running a hotel in Bengaluru, Amar had visited his relative's residence at K P Agrahara on August 13. Suffering from fever, he sought medical assistance at the nearby Bhagyashree Clinic. According to reports, the doctor administered an injection and prescribed tablets to manage his fever.

However, shortly after receiving the injection, Amar experienced swelling and pain in his lower back area. On August 15, he sought further medical attention at a clinic in Rajajinagar, close to his residence. Another doctor provided him with tablets and suggested additional treatment if the pain persisted.

With the pain intensifying, Amar was admitted to KIMS Hospital. Medical professionals at KIMS determined that the injection administered at the K P Agrahara clinic had caused multi-organ dysfunction, leading to Amar's deteriorating health. Tragically, on August 18, Amar succumbed to the severe reaction caused by the injection. The family of the deceased has lodged a police complaint regarding the incident.
