Cricketer Praveen Kumar Steps-in to 'Wrestle' with Fans

London, Aug 7: After the two consecutive defeats at the hands of England, the Indian cricket team is already on the receiving end, but the recent incident has caused a bigger headache to the team management. The Indian fast bowler, who is an expert in wrestling sports, almost started wrestling with cricket fans during the just concluded two-day practice match with Northamptonshire on Saturday August 6.

Praveen Kumar was reportedly involved in an ugly spat with fans after the match, where minnows Northamptonshire overpowered India in the first innings.

After the match, when the team was about to leave for the hotel by bus, a group of fans reportedly circled the team bus and ridiculed Indian players for their recent poor performance in the test match as well as practice match.

Kumar, who had previously been in a brawl with fans in a bar a few years ago, reportedly raised his bat towards the fans and abused them, said a UK-based website has reported.

It is said that Suresh Raina and Munaf Patel had to intervene to calm him down.

Senior players Raina and Patel reported the issue to the stewards and asked them to handle the disrespectful fans.

After exchanging harsh words Kumar was put back in the bus after the intervention of the stewards, said the report.

Keep your cool and aim to win in the remaining matches. People should understand that win and loss is a part of the game and once cannot always win. We should also accept loss gracefully and work harder to win the next game...best of luck to the Indian team for the remaining tour!!

No one has right to heckle anyone. Whether the players perform good or bad, fans(are they really fans who can't stand through the thin) should not perform bad.
