Mangaluru: Nitte Management Institute celebrates silver jubilee

Mangaluru, Aug 23: “Principle and value centred leadership is the need of the hour. Life has no meaning without values and principles. Integrity is the hallmark of life. These virtues need to be imbibed during schooling and college days,” said Dr. Debashis Chatterjee, director, IIM Kozhikode.

He was delivering a Silver Jubilee lecture on the theme of ‘Leadership Challenges' at the Justice K S Hegde of Management, Nitte on August 20 on the occasion of its silver jubilee celebration. He said Justice K S Hegde was a great visionary. Younger generation should imbibe his values and integrity throughout their life and profession. He appreciated the all-round success achieved by the Institute for the last twenty-five years.

Prof (Dr) M Shantharam Shetty, pro-chancellor (Hospital Management) Nitte (Deemed to be University) presided over the function. He said management principles and practices are required for each and every organization. MBAs should learn to master it. Prof (Dr) Harsha Halahalli, registrar, Nitte (Deemed to be University) Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar, principal NMAMIT, professor emeritus Dr. N S Shetty was also present on the occasion. Dr Radhakrishna Sharma, professor, welcomed the gathering. Director of the institute Dr Gururaj H Kidiyoor introduced the guests. Dr Debashis Chatterjee was felicitated by the Nitte (Deemed to be University). Former director, faculty members and staff were felicitated on the same occasion for their valuable contribution to the successful growth of the institute. Adithyaramana invoked the blessings of the almighty God. Dr. Sudhir M, professor presented the faculty and staff for the felicitation. Dr Sudhir Raj K, professor, compered the programme. Prof Karthik proposed a vote of thanks.

The silver jubilee alumni meet ‘Rajathaarush’ was organised in the institute as a part of the silver jubilee celebration, The founder director of the institute, Prof (Dr) M S Moodithaya, who is also the present vice-chancellor of the Nitte (Deemed to be University) recalled past memories of the institute. The institute started with an intake of 40 and now it has 180 intake. He also said that the future plan is being chalked out for the growth of the Nitte group of institutes. Former directors Prof. K Ramesh Karnik and Dr. K Sankaran also spoke about the successful journey of the institute. Guruprashanth Bhat, alumni coordinator, welcomed the guests. Adithyaramana rendered a prayer. Director of the institute, Dr Gururaj H Kidiyoor highlighted the role of Alumni in the growth of the management institute. Dr Sudhir Raj K, professor, compered the programme. Quiz, fun games, interactive sessions were organised as a part of the silver jubilee alumni meet. Dr Sudhir M, professor, administered the annual general body meet of the alumni on the same occasion.
