While condemning his act; many young people who have no trade or any skill, given the current pathetic economic situation, get addicted to alcohol, gambling, and other vices which leads them to the ultimate thing of comitting robbery, fraud etc if not....get pushed to suicide! Just go around the main points in Mangalore Smart City and see the number of shops, both big and small, which have pulled down their shutters and you can gauge the pitiable condition of the small to medium businesses! Only work left is coolie or labour jobs; which educated people are reluctant to do!! IMHO, the worst is yet to come!!

Given the pathetic economic situation, it is assumed that the income on the hands of educated unemployed is nil. Now assuming this situation compels them to resort to robbery/cheat/fraud, the easy gain they cornered is to be utilized to take care of their family or themselves for their basic needs right? So here they just want to splirge on to get addicted to alcohol, gambling, and other vices! Basically, their intention is to fo for easy money, no point in blaming on economic situations

This so called wayward guy has only robbed a few lacs of gold; how many "devout" Catholic family examples do you want where entire properties have been usurped by their own children or siblings by using devious methods with help of dubious lawyers and depriving other legal heirs of their share?

Prajwal Fernandes should you opted to do hard work and live a dignified life than to become a victim of gambling & alcohol addict at this very young age. Still there is time for change.

Anton mangalore ,what you say is right. But the problem is ,one should be ready to work hard and earn money. They find it easier to earn money by stealing and gambling and drink than their own earned. Here must some social worker from village if any or social service from Parish should look into this problem, help them to get into working and earning.Give them a prospective in life.Does he have no family?let him roam about always?Counselling is need of the hour and not put in jail and feed him. When comes out it beginns from beginn itself.First of all take off his scooter or bike so that he doesnt go roaming to steal.

Our Leaders has got enough time to go aboard to collect the money to build huge church & halls, but no time to visit such houses to counsel & pray for them. God dwells in our heart & not the building. Hence start giving Word of God to the parishioners to nourish their soul.
