Kundapur, Aug 25: Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, who leads the fight for justice for Soujanya, said, “Dharmasthala means a place where justice is served. Lord Manjunatha and Annappa Swamy will provide justice to Soujanya today or tomorrow. They have put the fight for justice on my shoulders. That is why I have been fighting for 11 years. I am ready for any kind of protest in future also. I do not have the desire to speak on the dais. Providing justice to a girl is my aim.”

He was speaking at the Janagraha meeting that was held at Shastri circle of the city organized by the protest committee for justice for Soujanya Kundapur and Byndoor.

Thimarodi further said, “Anyone who is unjust should not live on this land. Our fight is to punish those who have spilled spots of blood on the face of Lord Manjunatha and Annappa Swamy. Till we get justice, we will fight for it throughout the state and nation. No one can put an obstacle to this fight. We will not allow it to shake the foundation of Hindu religion. Setting it right is our aim. We are the proponents of Sanatana Hindu Dharma.

“Where is truth, justice and morality? How is it possible that justice is not served in Dharmasthala? Who are the rapists who are involved in this rape and murder? The culprits who gang-raped Soujanya are systematically protected. The rape was heinous. The whole of mankind has to bow down their heads in shame on this murder.

“There is only one religion and that is Hindu. There are various sects in this. There is no meaning in calling ourselves a minority. New laws are made every day separately for the rich and affluent and for the poor. But only people have to make decisions in this regard.

“The state government is trying to wash its hands from this case by submitting it to the central government. This is the state government’s mind game which is trying to stay safe. In any case, we will not stop our fight till we get justice.

“A huge protest rally will be held in Beltangady on September 3. Lacs of people will gather. The rapists should be hanged till death. We also urge punishment for those who protected the accused,” he said.

Addressing the protesters, Kusumavati, mother of Soujanya said, “I have been demanding justice for my daughter since 11 years. The rapists who heinously killed my daughter should be punished. Let them investigate the people whom we accuse as the suspects. The whole case needs to be reinvestigated. We are fed up with the threats as we fought for justice. At least now the government should provide us justice.”

Organizer of the programme Sudhir Malyadi welcomed and rendered the vote of thanks.

A huge procession was held from Nehru Maidan before the stage programme. More than 5000 people took part in the protest. Heavy police presence was seen during the procession and meeting.

The protesters believed in single engine, and that double engine has failed miserably. However the BJP pressurized Congress government to handover the case to CBI when congress were in power. Sidda-rama-iah transferred the case to CBI. Now Congress has nothing to do with. The public only has to file the case in high court with proper evidences. Without proper evidences any courts in the world cannot give judgements.

everyone's backing exists for justice in the Soujanya case. Certain influential individuals are running an alternative administration in Dharmasthala Ujire, exhibiting resemblances to nomadic kings from ancient times. India, being a democratic nation, operates with a government chosen by and accountable to its citizens. No specific person, monarch, or local entity holds superiority over this governing framework and the constitution. Every individual retains the privilege to voice their dissent and rally for justice. The widespread attention to this instance is attributed to social media, a constructive application of technology in my view. The govt should investigate this particular case and other mystery deaths in this area too.

The accused too was acquitted after spending 11 years in jail. Why he wasn't released earlier if found not guilty. This is not a political issue. All parties should join together in apprehending the real culprits and provide justice to Soujanya.

Why does this case gain prominence after BJP is ousted from power in Bangalore? If rumors are to be believed, Soujanya is not the only case, many disappearances happened there it seems. I am in favor of justice to Soujanya, but this period of hibernation and then suddenly mobilization of people makes me wonder if our aspirations of justice to Soujanya is being leveraged at will. Yes, these are questions based on my ignorance.

They may not have woken up after the BJP government lost power, but rather because they believe that the new government will be able to help them in seeking the justice. I'do not know what potential personal advantages others will gain, but for a mother, this fight for justice seems to be a lifelong one.

CBI is under central Modi government. What he was doing for these many years , only world tour and Jumla bhashanas. Nothing on the ground. Modi totally failed in this issue. And now these Bjp supporters woke up and requesting Congress state governments for justice. Keep going.
