Puttur, Aug 27: In an impactful event held at SJM Hall on August 23, the inauguration of the six-day student induction programme coordinated by Vinayachandra dean, department of computer science for the academic year 2023-24 marked a significant day for the newly enrolled undergraduate students at the esteemed institution. The occasion was graced by the presence of Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, the esteemed Head of the institution, who took the opportunity to guide the freshers through the intricate systems and operations of the college.

The event was enriched by a thought-provoking session on higher education led by Fr Stany Pinto, campus director enlightening the students about the vast opportunities that lay ahead on their academic journey. The IQAC coordinator, Dr Malini K, provided valuable insights into the functioning of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), shedding light on its pivotal role in ensuring and enhancing the quality of education.

Prof Ganesh Bhat, the vice principal of the college, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, setting a positive tone for the event. Dr A P Radhakrishna vice principal spoke on the importance of the induction programme. The programme was compered by Bharathi S Rai, adding a seamless flow to the proceedings.

As the day progressed, Bharati S Rai, HOD, English engaged the freshers with her enlightening session on ‘Mastering English as a Global Language’, emphasizing the importance of language proficiency in the modern world thereby equipping students with essential language skills for global communication.

The afternoon sessions were equally engaging, as the deans and class advisors led discussions on crucial aspects of academic life. Topics ranged from maintaining classroom discipline to understanding the code of conduct of the college. Additionally, students received guidance on crafting an effective self-introduction, an essential skill for their personal and professional growth.

The inauguration of the student induction programme 2023-24 was a resounding success, fostering a sense of belonging and enthusiasm among the fresher-students.
