Puttur: St Philomena College commences faculty induction programme for new academic year

Puttur, Aug 27: In a significant step towards enhancing academic excellence, St Philomena College initiated its annual faculty induction programme for the academic year 2023-24. The event was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college, in collaboration with the Staff Development and Appraisal unit. The inauguration took place on August 25, at the Spandana Seminar Hall.

Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, addressing the faculty members, shed light on the operational framework of the college. He highlighted the institution’s adherence to established rules and regulations that guide its functioning. Stressing the pivotal role of educators in shaping students’ holistic development, Dr Monteiro emphasized their influence and urged them to embrace their profession with passion and dedication.

Fr Stany Pinto shared insights in his discourse, emphasizing the inseparable link between knowledge and teaching. He urged every teacher to continually nurture their own reservoir of knowledge and transmit it effectively to their students.

Prof Ganesh Bhat, Dr A P Radha Krishna, vice principals of the college, and IQAC coordinator Dr Malini K were present on the occasion. Dr Malini K delved into ‘Fostering Empowerment through Effective Teaching Skills in the Classroom’ while Dr A P Radha Krishna elaborated on ‘Quality Enhancement Parameters’.

Dr Vijay Kumar Moleyar, the programme coordinator, extended a warm welcome to the audience. The proceedings were conducted by Dr Chandrashekhar K, department of physics.
