Mangaluru, Aug 30: Dakshina Kannada district administration, Mangaluru City Corporation, and women and child development department launched the state government’s 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme on Wednesday August 30.

After inaugurating the programme, MLC Manjunath Bhandary said, "I had earlier asked the chief minister whether it was really possible to implement the scheme. The CM had then expressed confidence and said that it may be difficult in the first budget, but in the third budget, everything will be in place.

“The 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme will help the common man. The Congress government has given this scheme for the welfare of people and it is not for the purpose of the votes,” he said.

Deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan was present.

It is truly going to benefit many womenfolk, cutting across any political parties they belong to. A great support to those who are indeed in need of monies for their monthly personal expenses. Hats off to our honourable CM and the respectful Deputy CM. DELIVERED WHAT PROMISED.
