Edgbaston, Birmingham, Aug 10: Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni gets the biggest challenge in his test captaincy on Wednesday, August 10 at Edgbaston when his team will face England in the third cricket test match of the series.
Amidst the unrest in London, cricket is considered as very important factor for even the peace process in the riot-hit London.
Already down with 0-2, Dhoni has to not only take his team to a winning combination, but also has to come out from his poor form. He needs to lead from the front.
To equal the series, India has to turn the history table. In the history of 2002 test matches played, no team has equaled the series after losing first two matches, in a four test match series. In five match series, once Australia has won the series, after losing first two matches against England.
As a further de-motivating factor to Dhoni & co, India has lost five matches against England in Edgbaston, out of six text played so far. One match was drawn. Not only India, even Pakistan and Sri Lanka are yet to win a test match here!
If India loses this test match, then it will lose its No 1 spot. So India must win to keep the series alive.
