Kundapur, Aug 31: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 16-year-old Dalit girl, Sindhu, studying in the SSLC program and residing at a hostel, has taken her own life at her residence in Padukone.

Sindhu was the daughter of Prashant and Sunanda, a couple employed as civic workers in the Kundapur municipality. The unfortunate incident has left the community in shock.

Currently enrolled in an SSLC course at a nearby government school, Sindhu was also a resident of the girls' hostel in Vaderahobali. Suffering from an illness, she had returned home a couple of days ago for recovery.

Tragically, despite her father's assurance that he would accompany her to school on Thursday, Sindhu chose to end her life by hanging herself for reasons yet unknown.

The Gangolli police station has registered a case and commenced an investigation into the circumstances leading up to this devastating incident. The community is left mourning the loss of a promising young life, prompting a collective call for greater awareness about mental health and timely interventions to prevent such heartbreaking events.

May her soul rest in peace. It’s a common misconception that people can easily recover from mental health issues, but it’s actually quite challenging. Many people lose hope and struggle to cope. Personally, I’ve been diagnosed with depression, and while I can tolerate physical pain, mental pain is much more difficult to bear. I would like to encourage whoever is reading this comment to be kind and polite to others, as we never know what they might be going through.

Shocking to hear young girls or boys end their life for some simple problem.May be girl was so much suffering ,couldnt bear ?Heartfelt sympathy to her family. Its shocking same time to family.Wouldhave been some support later. But sickness crossed her life.May her soul rest in peace.Just tell children when they have any problem to come to parents and take hard decision themselves.Say you will not be angry and scold for anything that disturbs.
