London, Aug 10 (IANS) At least one Londoner in three wants the police to use live bullets against "rioting thugs", a poll revealed Wednesday.
Two-thirds support the use of plastic bullets, and nine out of 10 people want police to use water cannons, The Sun reported citing the poll by YouGov, an international internet-based market research firm.
Curfews were backed by 82 percent people, while use of tear gas got 78 percent support and taser guns that use electricity to stun people got 72 percent.
People were also furious at politicians, with 57 percent saying Prime Minister David Cameron "handled the crisis badly". Only 28 percent were happy with him.
London Mayor Boris Johnson fared badly too, with 54 percent people criticising him, and 24 percent supporting him.
At least two-thirds think the rioters will not face justice. Only 13 percent believe they will.
A total of 42 percent say the violence was caused by criminal behaviour, while 26 percent blame gang culture.
