Beltangady, Sep 2: It is suspected that harassment from a loan app, is the reason for the suicide of Swaraj (24), a resident of Bayatyaru in Puduvettu village, who killed himself on August 31.
Swaraj was a renowned Kabaddi player of the taluk and was employed in a private company at Ujire. He hanged himself in the bathroom of his old house at Puduvettu.
Information has gone viral on social media that Swaraj had taken loan from online app and he was being pressurised to pay additional money in various phases. His friends were also receiving unnecessary messages, it is said.
Police are investigating further.
