Bantwal: Gold ornaments worth Rs 5.36 Lac stolen in broad daylight

Bantwal, Sep 3: Gold ornaments, silverware, and cash totaling Rs 5.36 lac were stolen from a rented house near Sajipa Munnur on September 1.

Michael D’Souza, the occupant of the house, had locked it in the morning and left with his children. When his daughter returned around 2.45 pm, she discovered the door was open, and the contents of the cupboard were scattered.

Upon learning of the incident from his daughter, Michael returned home to find that thieves had entered the house and made off with gold worth Rs 5.36 lac (weighing 115 grams), silverware, and Rs 3000 in cash.

A case has been registered at Bantwal City Police Station.
