Mangaluru, Sep 4: One among the five doctors who had gone to Someshwar beach at around 11 pm on Sunday September 3, drowned in the sea. His mortal remains were found early in the morning on Monday September 4.
The deceased is identified as Dr Asheek Gowda (30), working as surgeon at a private hospital in the city. He is native of Ramnagar in Bengaluru. Dr Asheek, Dr Pradeesh and three lady doctors who are doing internship had gone to Someshwar, late in the evening on Sunday. As they were taking stroll at Rudrapade, Dr Pradeesh slipped from the rock and fell into the sea. Dr Asheek who was peeping into the sea from the rock hearing the cries of Dr Pradeesh, fell into the sea. Dr Pradeesh survived by holding onto a small rock in the sea but Dr Asheek drowned.
Though fire service personnel and Ullal police conducted search operation till the wee hours of Monday, the mortal remains were not found. However, the mortal remains of Dr Asheek were found on the beach, early in the morning on Monday.
