Mangaluru: Alumni Association of Father Muller College of Nursing holds workshop

Mangaluru, Sep 4: The Alumni Association of Father Muller College of Nursing conducted a workshop on ‘Inspire, Integrate and Innovate’ on September 2 at Rajath Bhavan, FMCON.

The inauguration of the programme commenced with a prayer song by nursing students followed by lighting the lamp. Dr Sandra Sunitha Lobo, associate professor, School of Social Work, Roshini Nilaya was the chief guest for the ceremony. Dr Shiji PJ, organizing chairperson and the president, Alumni Association, welcomed the gathering. Fr George Jeevan Sequeira, administrator, FMMCH, Sr Jacintha D’Souza, principal, Father Muller College of Nursing, deans and principles of constituent colleges, FMCI, presided over the programme.

Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, director FMCI, honoured the former alumni executives (2018-2023) with memento and certificates followed by delivering the presidential address.

The dignitaries inaugurated the newly installed three air conditioners donated by former alumni executives. Prof Wilma Shalini Noronha, organizing secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. 

There were three sessions in total. The first session on ‘Social and Emotional Intelligence’ was taken by Dr Sandra Sunitha Lobo and moderated by Dr Neetha Kamath, associate professor, NITTE Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, Mangaluru. The second session was on ‘Team Culture’ led by Dr Sachitha Nandagopal, executive director, Centre for Integrated Learning and Founder Aveshana, moderated by Leena M Castelino, associate professor, Father Muller College of Nursing. The post lunch session on ‘Navigating Change’ was taken by Manoj Fernandes, lecturer, department of business administration, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru and moderated by Prof Vinutha D’Souza, Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing, Mangaluru.

Altogether 11 alumni PhD achievers were felicitated followed by conducting a short teacher’s day program by cutting the cake and distributing the mementoes to all the teachers. As many as 70 alumni actively participated in the workshop and gave positive feedback.
