Udupi, Sep 4: Preparations are on for the Krishna Janmastami festival in the city. Like every year, this year also social worker Ravi Katapadi is going to entertain people by donning a unique costume.
This year Ravi Katapadi is going to don a Sea Folk character of an English movie. He will go around in Udyavara, Udupi, Malpe, Padukere and other areas with his team of Ravi Katapadi friends.
This year Ravi has decided to help a two-year-old child of Kundapur for its medical treatment. However, this year Ravi Katapadi Friends team will not ask money with people holding a box.
Speaking to media, Ravi said, “In the past eight years, I have helped more than 113 children with more than Rs one crore financial aid. I have immense satisfaction of this fact. After 47 years, I have started building my own house. However, some people of my own village are accusing that I am constructing the house from the money that was collected during Astami costume presentation. So this year, though I will don the costume, our team will not collect money from public. If anyone is willing to help us, they can do so by approaching our vehicle. This is the decision of Ravi Friends Katapadi team.”
Guides of the team Mahesh Shenoy, Mohammed Rameezullah and Vishwas were present.
