Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru (EP)

Bengaluru, Sep 4: UPI payment system will be launched in KSRTC buses in the state soon to avoid frequent arguments with regard to small change between  passengers and bus conductors.

The problem of small change has always bothered passengers and conductors in all the passenger buses in Karnataka. The conductor is unable to return small change to all the passengers. The passengers in turn do not have sufficient small change. Therefore, KSRTC has decided to roll out the UPI payment system in its buses.

With the introduction of UPI mode of payment, passengers will be able to pay viaPayTM, Phone Pe and Google Pay and obtain the tickets. Therefore, it will be convenient to both passengers and the bus staff.

The UPI payment system is being introduced in certain select buses on an experimental basis. The amount will be transferred directly to the bank account of KSRTC from the bank accounts of the passengers.

A QR code is being put up inside some KSRTC buses to start off with so that passengers can pay through digital mode. It is said that the conductors and the travellers have welcomed this decision of the KSRTC.
