Mangaluru: Investiture Ceremony of Scouts & Guides held at Mount Carmel School

Mangaluru, Sep 4: Mount Carmel Central School held the investiture ceremony of the sub junior Scouts and Guides on the school grounds on September 1. It began with Scout and Guide Prarthana and Jhanda Geet.

The chief guests Srinivas Chandrashekar Kini, assistant district commisioner and president of Bharath Scouts and Guides, Mangaluru North Wing; Mohini Ramachandran, assistant Guide commissioner and secretary, Mangaluru North and Felcy Fernandes, assistant Guide commissioner and leader trainer for Guide captains were welcomed with a flower and card each prepared by Scouts and Guides. Principal Sr Melissa and vice principal Sr Teena were present for the ceremony.

Guide Captain Tr Ashwitha and Scout Master Tr Dhanyashree led the promise and the oath-taking ceremony. Srinivas Chandrashekar Kini in his message, motivated the students and helped them to understand their role in the society. Principal Sr Melissa congratulated the Scouts, Guides and their mentors and encouraged them to practice and live up to their motto “Be prepared” in their day today life. The newly enrolled Scouts and Guides were given Pravesh Badge and Scarf by the guests, principal, vice principal, scout masters and guide captains. Scout Ancel and Guide Manavi compered the programme.

After the formal ceremony, the guests interacted with the scouts and guides, gave them a few tips to be efficient scouts and guides and encouraged them to take active part in all the activities the school and their mentors organize. The programme ended with refreshments served to all.
