Kundapur: Man injured in scooter accident succumbs to injuries

Kundapur, Sep 6: Bhujanga Shetty (83), a resident of Kavadi Havaralu, who was grievously injured in the road accident that occurred near Yadthadi Golimar on September 3, succumbed to injuries on September 4.

Shetty was going to deliver milk to dairy on his scooter while his vehicle collided with another scooter that arrived from Saibrakatte. A seriously injured Shetty was taken to Manipal hospital but succumbed on the following day. He is survived by wife and four sons.

Shetty served as KSRTC bus conductor for 36 years and retired as traffic controller. He was actively involved in animal husbandry and agricultural activities and had deep knowledge about farming.

Bhujanga also founded Raitha Shakti Sangatane and was giving information to local farmers about the benefits that the government is providing. He was awarded best farmer and best yield honours from agricultural department. He was singing Bhajans for more than seven decades and was felicitated by scores of organizations.
