Mumbai, Sep 6: The Kannada department of Mumbai University held an interaction on literature presided over by the head of the department of Kannada and Professor Dr G N Upadhya at the Ranade Bhavan, on September 5. Ashok Pakkala, well known anchor, chief editor of Bantaravani, the mouthpiece of Bantara Sangha, Mumbai spoke as the resource person.

I Lesa organization’s Ananta Rao said that the success of the programme lies in the hands of the anchor. It is his responsibility to conduct it systematically. Surendra Kumar of I Lesa organization red the selected portions of Leelavati works by Siribhoovalaya and Bhaskeracharya describing it as the rare work that includes Veda, Ramayana, Mahabharata and Bhagavadgeetha.

Dr G N Upadhya said that the Kannada department has indulged for the last 45 years in deepening the studies of Kannada language, literature and culture. Kumudendu expressed his opinion about the book.

Kannada department students took part in the interaction. Kannada department co professor Dr Poornima S Shetty conducted and compered the programme and proposed vote of thanks.
