Jharkhand to assess ore reserves with remote sensing


Ranchi, Aug 11 (IANS) Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Hemant Soren Thursday said that ore reserves in the state would be assessed through remote sensing.

"We have prepared maps of iron ore mines by remote sensing and we plan to assess the availabilities of limestone, bauxite, graphite and kyanite by remote sensing," said Soren while addressing a press conference here.

He said that the mines department generated Rs.2,135.46 crore in 2010-11.
