Kundapur, Sep 7: Former Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty of the BJP is in all likelihood to join the Congress but the date of joining is only yet to be confirmed.
Sukumar Shetty was reportedly unhappy with the party over the manner in which he was treated during the recently held Assembly elections. He had remained away from party activities but during the elections he had indirectly supported the Congress candidate, it was learnt.
Now, deputy chief minister D K Shivakumar has himself confirmed on his Facebook page that Sukumar Shetty is all set to join the Congress party. A picture of D K Shivakumar seen together with former MLAs K Gopal Poojary and Sukumar Shetty has gone viral.
Reacting to the developments, former MLA B M Sukumar Shetty said he had completed the first round of talks on joining the Congress and that the date of joining had not been decided.
