Udupi, Sep 5: On September 5, Teachers’ day was celebrated at St Cecily’s English Medium Higher Primary School (CBSE), Udupi, with great ardour and joy. The iconic teacher Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan was remembered during the occasion. As a mark of the bicentennial celebration of the birthday of foundress, venerable Mother Veronica, the retired teachers of the school were felicitated for their labour of love and dedication by the principal and the faculty.

The programme began with prayer service, where students prayed for the health and prosperity of the teachers. As Muskaan of class 8A welcomed the gathering, a group of students symbolically welcomed everyone with an aesthetic dance.

Students also presented a short meaningful dance drama and an entertainment dance too.The tiny tots of the school won the hearts of all teachers and students with their melodious song and a beautiful dance. The school head boy - Bradley and head girl - Evelyn, in their speech, thanked the teachers for their loving dedication and commitment.

A variety of fun games were conducted for the teachers and winners were awarded prizes. Students expressed their gratitude with a ‘thank you’ dance.

This entertainment programme was conducted by the school cabinet with the involvement of students of higher grades. The programme concluded with words of gratitude expressed by Evelyn of grade 8.
