Moodbidri, Sep 7: A teacher plants the seeds of knowledge, sprinkles them with love and patientlynurtures their growth to produce tomorrow’s dreams. We celebrate teacher’s day every year on 5thSeptember, a day dedicated to teachers and their contribution in shaping one's life. It commemorates the birthanniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a reversed academician Bharat Ratna recipient, a well known diplomat and above all, a timeless teacher.

The students of Carmel school CBSE Moodbidri celebrated Teachers day expressing their love and gratitude to their teachers on 5th of September. Thiswonderful day began with a meaningful Eucharistic banquet celebrated by Fr Ashwil CSSR, thanking the lord for his numerous blessing bestowed on every teacher.

This was followed with a cultural programme by the students at the school auditorium .The teachers were dressed in colourful and glittering sarees. Students were all ready for a big celebration filled with fun and frolic.All the tiny tots dressed in colourful dresses welcomed their teachers.

The celebration started by lighting of the lamp by Prajwal Pereira the chief guest, Sr Gracilda A. C. the principal, Sr Preena the Vice Principal, Sr Elena the administrator, SrRanitha and Sr Rosy, Sr Evelyn Marie theCoordinators, Teachers Clara and Veena.The students made a meaningful prayer service invokingGod’s blessing followed by welcome was done by Head boy Shaun Pinto.

All the dignitaries were welcomed with a floral. The ceremonious occasion was celebrated with various performances likewelcomedance , fusion dance, skitand music .And the teachers enjoyed every moment with great enthusiasm.

The chief guest on this occasion was Sir Prajwal Pereira,a dynamic, supportive and excellent teacher of our school. In his speech he wished all the teachers on this day. Healso emphasized about the importance of teachers in students life, the teachers contribution in students life was well explained by him. Lastly he asked the students to respect and imbibe the values taught by their teachers.

Sr Gracilda A.C.in her message appreciated all the students for putting up a wonderful programme and wished all teachers on this auspicious day andappreciated them for their dedicated service to the students and the institution. Amelodioussong was also sung by her ,which kept up the spirit of theday.

A gratitude speech was presented by Roshnel and Joyston elaborating the role of teachers in the students life.Numerous outdoor gameswere conducted on the previous day in which the teachers participated with great joy and excitement.
Winners of these games were also felicitated. The programme came to an end with national anthem.

The programme was beautifully compered by Niyathi Kini and Sheldon Rodriguez. Vote of thanks was articulated by Hayden Dsouza.

Later on in the afternoon a short programmewas arranged by the management for the teachers, few games were played which lightened up the mood of all the staff members followed by a sumptuous lunch. Parent Teacher AssociationVice President Mr Jossy Menezes along withour school committee members organized some games for all the staff members. They also honoured the staff members by distributing the prizes to the winners of the games. The overall programme was a grand success and will always remainamemory to one and all.
