Mangaluru: Former ISRO scientist to inaugurate ‘CHEMERGENCE’ fest at St Aloysius College

Mangaluru, Sep 8: St Aloysius College, a revered Jesuit institution with a remarkable 144-year legacy in providing exceptional education in science, humanities, commerce, and management, is thrilled to announce the grand inauguration of ‘CHEMERGENCE’," its pre-university festival dedicated to the fascinating world of chemistry. CHEMERGENCE is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 11, at 9:30 AM in the Fr L F Rasquinha Auditorium, Loyola Centre for Research and Innovation (LCRI) at St Aloysius College. This event promises to be an enlightening experience for approximately 400 students from 35 pre-university colleges, who will converge to celebrate their passion for chemistry and explore the numerous career prospects this field offers.

The esteemed chief guest for this remarkable occasion is Prof Dr P Sreekumar, a luminary in the field of astrophysics and space research. With an illustrious career that boasts a PhD from the University of New Hampshire, USA, and roles as a Research Scientist at the Goddard Space Flight Center, NASA, Group Director of the ISRO Satellite Center in Bangalore, and Director of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics in Bangalore, Prof Dr. Sreekumar brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the event.

Prof Dr. Sreekumar will deliver a captivating keynote address on the pivotal role of Basic Science in the development of the world, offering valuable insights and inspiration to the students in attendance.
