Mangaluru, Sep 8: Sudhir Shetty Kannur was elected as mayor of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) and Suneetha Salian as the deputy mayor in 24th MCC elections held at MCC office on Friday September 8.
Sudhir Shetty Kannur is the corporator of Kodialbail ward and Suneetha Salian is corporator of Tannirbhavi ward.
Among the 60 corporators, the BJP has a majority of 44 seats, followed by Congress with 14 and SDPI with 2 seats.
Dr J C Prakash Mysuru, division regional commissioner conducted the election.
The election for four members of the standing committee consisting seven members was also held.
