Kasargod railway station to be renovated before 2024 under Amrit Bharat scheme

Kasaragod, Sep 10: Overbridge, escalator, spacious parking and commercial complexes will be built. The looks of Kasaragod railway station will be changed under the Amrit Bharat scheme.

The new developmental schemes were explained when Palghat division ADRM S Jayakrishnan and other higher officials arrived at the station.

The railway officials reached Kasaragod railway station on Thursday afternoon. The contractor who has won the deal was also seen with them. Officials instructed the contractor to get the parking facility done as soon as possible.

A new overbridge will be constructed at the northern end of the station. An escalator will be installed adjacent to the overbridge. Another escalator will be installed behind the ticket counter. A small pathway which was used by the public to walk has been closed.

At present, areas where there is no roof will be provided with roof so that rain and wind will not affect passengers. Under the new scheme waiting rooms with AC facility has been suggested.

Sreekumar, Eldo Thomas and other officials from Palghat were present.
