Chikkamagaluru, Sep 10: Mescom gave a shocker to Mohit Agency situated at Kadur town of the taluk by slapping a bill for Rs 10 lac for the month of August.

The new state government led by Siddaramaiah implemented Griha Jyoti scheme from July through which many consumers are getting bills amounting to zero. However, in the case of Mohit Agency, Mescom slapped a bill of whopping Rs 10 lac.

Every month the agency used to get a bill of about Rs 4000 to 4500. However, for the period August 1 to September 1, the establishment ran up a bill for Rs 10 lac.

Owner of the shop Kamal Chand has brought the matter to the notice of Mescom officials. The officials of Mescom said that the error occurred due to a software glitch and that it will be rectified.
