Bengaluru, Sep 11: While the private bus operators have genuine difficulties due to the State Government’s implementation of the Shakti guarantee scheme offering free travel in all government buses all over Karnataka from June 11, the strike by private taxi aggregators like Ola and Uber could be politically motivated, suspected Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Monday.

Speaking to media persons near his residence, he said the State Government is taking steps to solve the problems of the private bus operators.

Steps will be taken for redressal of the grievances of the autorickshaw drivers, he said.

However, the Deputy Chief Minister said holding out threats to the government and causing unnecessary problems for the commuters is not a good development.

Shivakumar said the State Government will take all steps solve the genuine difficulties.

The Shakti guarantee has benefitted the women and it is a good development, he said.
