Mangaluru, Sep 12: The department of hospitality science of the Yenepoya Institute of Arts Science Commerce & Management (YIASCM) inaugurated its student board and there after fresher's day of the department on September 9 at B block auditorium.
Manukumar, general manager of Hotel Ocean Pearl, Chikkamagaluru was the chief guest for the programme. Dr Arun Bhagwath, principal of Yenepoya Institute of Arts Science Commerce and Management (YIASCM), Narayan Sukumar, vice principal, Mervin Jaison Vas, head, Department of Hospitality Science, Fathima Nida, president and Basil Simon, secretary of student board, department of hospitality science were present on the dias.
It started with seeking the blessings of the almighty. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest with the lighting the lamp and then followed by the cake cutting with all the dignitaries.
Medha Pai took over the stage to conduct the installation ceremony of the Student board. The guest handed over the badges to all the office bearers. Principal Dr Arun Bhagwath administered the oath to the members.
Certificates of recognition and appreciation were distributed to the students of the department for their achievements and talents in various domain performed during last year.
Sheik Mohammed Faaiz, I BSc in hospitality management, welcomed the gathering and Sheikh Mohammed Imdad, III BSc Hospitality Science, proposed a vote of thanks. Fathima Zenha, Meeralal compered the programme.
