India vs Bharat: No attempt made to change country’s name, says Pralhad Joshi

Hubballi, Sep 12 (IANS): Union Minister for Coal, Mine and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi on Monday said that no attempt has been made to change the name of the country.

“We have not stated anywhere that the name of the country would be changed. Only people who are fearful are talking about this. We address the nation as ‘Bharat’ and you can address it the way you want it,” the minister said.

However, he said that the declaration has been made dexterously by the Prime Minister. “This is a masterstroke,” he said.

“People made a mockery when PM Modi stated that the country is also one of the leaders in the world and we will stand with major global powers. We have seen India taking the lead now. This is a blessing. At the G-20 convention, the PM has discussed green fuel as well,” Joshi said.

    INDIA AND BHARAT -THE BJP HAD WALKED OUT WHEN MULAYAM SINGH YADAV HAD PROPOSED THIS NAME - -- BHARAT INSTEAD OF INDIA -- In 2004 erstwhile CM of UP -Mulayam Singh Yadav had proposed in UP assembly to refer INDIA as BHARAT --But BJP opposed the move -- staged a walkout - BJP Hypocrisy comes out clear -- making needless issues --

    India and Bharat both are names of one nation just as Japan and Nippon. Let there be status quo as far as use of name is concerned. It should not have any adverse impact on the economy and the common people as it happened when Bombay was changed to Mumbai – mail was returned and applications refused for not writing Mumbai, despite the fact that both names coexisted earlier in English and Marathi respectively.

    As usual somersault -- BJP first takes decision then analyses --then backtracks -- sidetracks -- obfuscate issue -- then blame whoever questions --- who started the controversy --BHARAT -- INDIA --in the last weeks -- -- Already constitution is very clear -- “India, that is, Bharat, shall be a Union of States.” ---- This was decided by experts -- all scholars -- although there were differences -- many debates -- finally all agreed and it was THUS PASSED --INDIA THAT IS BHARAT -- interchangeable --- now half baked trouble makers who have failed on various governance issues -- and corruption -- ADANI MANIPUR -- etc etc etc want to divert --- ALSO TO GET A FEW VOTES NEXT ELECTIONS ---
