Mangaluru, Sep 13: The Society of St Vincent de Paul, youth conference of St Sebastian Church, Permannur organised 'Hello Parisar', a variety of competitions on September 9-10 for parishioners to create awareness about their responsibility towards nature. Competitions such as colouring, collage, fashion walk using newspaper costumes, cooking without fire were conducted for parishioners. Around 250 contestants participated in these events.
The event also marked the inauguration of the silver jubilee of SSVP Youth Permannur which will be celebrated in the year 2024. The silver jubilee year was inaugurated on September 10 and the jubilee logo was unveiled by the parish priest Fr Cyprian Pinto who in his presidential speech appreciated the youth for organising events that unite ward members and parishioners alike. Parish pastoral council vice president Arun D'Souza, secretary Jyothi D'Souza, Sr Royline and Sr Lavina of Bethel convent, convenor of 21 pastoral commissions Dolphy D'Souza, SSVP Permannur president Br Vincent Appose, Youth SSVP president Dencita D'Souza, cooking without fire judges Denzil D'Costa, Donald James D'Souza and Joel Ashwin Lobo were present on the dais.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul youth conference Permannur was the first youth conference in Mangalore diocese formed on August 1, 1999 and will be celebrating its 25th year Jubilee in 2024. Charity events and competitions will be organised throughout the year to mark this event. SSVP Permannur would like to thank all the well-wishers and donors who have been part of its 25-year-old journey and would like to make more effort in reaching out to the needy.
