Mangaluru, Sep 14: District in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao instructed the chief secretary of the government and deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada (DK) to take necessary action to change government holiday on account of Ganesha Chaturthi from September 18 to 19.

Gundu Rao issued instructions on the appeal of MLC Pratap Simha Nayak. No decision is yet taken with regards to change of holiday in Udupi district.

KPCC chief secretary Padmaraja R said, “Speaker U T Khader responded immediately to the request of change of government holiday on account of Ganesha Chaturthi from September 18 to 19 as the actual feast is celebrated on September 19. He immediately held discussion with chief minister Siddaramaiah and is hopeful that the holiday will be declared on September 19.”

    Sanathana Dharma and Shoodra dharma are different. Anyways, there is no doubt that humanity and celebrating each others festival is important without any upper caste or lower caste.
