Udupi, Sep 14: Manipal Academy of Higher Education in association with World Association for PhotobiomoduLation Therapy (WALT) and Indian Podiatry Association (IPA), Karnataka chapter – jointly organized a pre congress-workshop on, assessment and management of diabetic foot on September 13 at Preclinical Lab, Tower -1, Ground floor, Manipal College of Health Professions.
The workshop was unveiled by the chief guest, Dr Padmaraj Hegde, dean, Kasturba Medical College, MAHE, Manipal. Guests of honour, Dr. Anand Venugopal, chief operating officer, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal, Dr Ullas Kamath, professor & head, department of basic medical sciences, MAHE, Manipal, and Dr Rajnish Saxena, diabetologist graced the event with their presence. Dr APS Suri, president, Indian Podiatry Association presented the overview of the workshop. Dr G Arun Maiya, dean of MCHP, president of IPA Karnataka chapter, and membership director at WALT, Manipal gave the welcome note.
The workshop received excellent interest and participation from delegates across top 200 ranking universities from countries like USA, UK, South Africa, Australia, Iran across healthcare, and technology industries. It also attracted excellent industry support from top companies working in the field of photobiomodulation making it a great ‘Industry-Academia Partnership’.
Dr Anand Venugopal, COO of the Teaching Hospital in MAHE, expressed his gratitude, stating, "This Congress is a testament to the relentless dedication and collaboration of the IPA, MAHE, and WALT teams. We are pleased that it commenced on such a promising note with two highly successful workshops."
Dr Rajnish Saxena, national secretary of IAP, commented, "In today's comprehensive workshop, we explored the fascinating world of photobiomodulation (PBM) and its applications in alleviating pain and promoting tissue healing. Dr Ullas Kamath, professor and head of the department of basic sciences at MAHE, praised the immersive event, saying, ""This event represents a significant milestone in our commitment to advancing knowledge and collaboration in the fields of photobiomodulation and dentistry."
Addressing the gathering at the workshop Dr Padmaraj Hegde, dean of Kasturba Medical College at MAHE, added, "This event has offered professionals and students invaluable opportunities to gain practical insights into the latest advancements in dentistry and photobiomodulation. Through hands-on training and interactive sessions, participants have been able to explore innovative techniques, technologies, and best practices. We are proud to be part of this initiative, equipping aspiring professionals with industry-driven knowledge."
