Bantwal: 12-year-old Boy Drowns in Neighbour's Pond

Bantwal, Aug 14:
A boy drowned in a pond on private property in Kanyana village, near Vittal here on Sunday August 14.
 
The deceased has been identified as 12-year-old Mohammed Irfan, son of Abdul Khader and Maimoona, resident of Okkettoor, near here.

Irfan was living at his relative’s house at Kanyana village and studying in Class V at Okkettoor School.  He had gone for a swim in the pond situated on the plantation of neighbour Kantappa Hegde.  It is thought that he slipped and drowned. Expert swimmers from B C Road retrieved his dead body. 

The autopsy had been done at Vittal Community Hospital and Vittal police registered a case in this regard.
 
Abdul Khader works in a factory at B C Road here and his family lives in acute poverty.
