Media Release

Mangaluru, Sep 16: On the occasion of International Coastal Cleanup Day, the NCC, scouts and guides of Mount Carmel Central School participated in a beach cleanup drive at Panambur beach on September 16.

An impressive total of 33 NCC cadets and 19 scouts and guides, along with their ANO Teena D’Souza and scout master Dhanyashree took part in it. The event was organized by Headquarters No 3 Coast Guard District (Karnataka). The aim of International Coastal Cleanup Day was to foster awareness amongst school children and the general public in keeping the marine environment clean and unpolluted.

With enthusiasm and dedication, the NCC, scouts and guides along with the students of other schools and colleges cleaned the coastal line at Panambur, freeing it of all plastic and inorganic waste. This not only helps to enhance marine ecosystems, but also benefits humans and their society. With a sense of satisfaction of having taken part in fulfilling their duty towards the environment, the NCC Cadets, scouts and guides along with their teachers returned to the school.
