Kundapur: Railway passengers’ welfare panel welcomes daily train to Bengaluru from Murudeshwar

Kundapura, Sep 17: The daily train that runs between Bengaluru and Mangaluru via Mysuru has been extended up to Murudeshwar. When the train arrived at Murudeshwar on Sunday morning, it was given a rousing welcome by the passengers’ welfare committee of the city.

The train arrived in the city railway station on the birthday of PM Narendra Modi. Kundapura MLA Kiran Kumar Kodgi, members of the committee, Rotary club members distributed sweets to passengers.

The women Chende team of Sri Laxminarayana temple of the city welcomed the train with the beating of drums. The train was garlanded and a banner thanking Mysuru MP Pratap Simha was installed on the train.

MLA Kodgi said, “On the birthday of PM Modi the train has been restarted and it is convenient for all passengers. All have to take benefit of this facility. The pressure on Panchaganga train will be less. I thank all people's representatives, welfare committee and others who have worked hard for this.”

Ganesh Puthran, president of the committee said, “From the last one year continuous efforts were made to extend this train till Murudeshwar. Mysuru MP Pratap Simha, MPs of Mangaluru and Udupi have taken special interest in this effort. It is really a happy moment that the train has arrived to Kundapura on the birthday of PM Modi.”

Jagadeesh, Ganesh, Srinivasa, Satish, Varadaraja, Uday, Suresh, Nagaraja, Shankara, Surendra, Bharat, Somshekhar, Raghavendra, Udaya, Abhijit, Prathvi, Vishal, Joy, Sudhakar, Vivek, Sridhar, Rajesh, Padmana, Rajesh, Chidambara and others were present.
